Savimbo Whitepaper

Fair-trade carbon credits

Abstract

The Savimbo project is an interchange for fair-trade carbon offsets that provides buyers direct access to the people who are doing the work to preserve rainforests. Rather than an abstracted form of carbon credits, Savimbo facilitates the restoration of tropical forests by indigenous and local peoples, and provides high-quality immutably validated carbon offsets to investors and corporations. Savimbo enables sellers as small as individual subsistence farmers from tropical forests to validate and sell small-plot carbon-offset credits from microscale biochar, conservation, biodiversity, and restoration projects.

  • Sellers: By enabling scientifically-validated mobile tracking of carbon sequestration in rural-and-remote areas, Savimbo provides market services to community sellers which are currently unable to transact on carbon markets.

  • Buyers: Savimbo provides inexpensive industry-grade carbon offsets, simultaneously reversing deforestation economies among subsistence populations.

The Savimbo interchange will use as its utility tokens the proprietary Work (SV-W) token for service transactions and DAO voting rights, the proprietary Tree (SV-T) token to track Sellers view of terrestrial carbon stores, and the publicly-traded Carbon (SV-C) token for Buyers purchase, trading, and retirement of carbon offsets.
